Beer Near
Also known as: BN
Trail TermsBeer Near (marked as BN on trail) is a trail marking that indicates a beer check is approaching, typically within a quarter mile or so. It gives hashers a morale boost and lets the pack know that cold beer is just ahead.
How It Works
- The hare places BN marks on trail as the route nears a beer check
- Multiple BN marks may appear in sequence as the pack gets closer
- The exact distance varies by kennel and hare, but generally means less than a half mile to beer
Variations
- SN (Shot Near) — shots or liquor ahead instead of beer
- WN (Wine Near) — wine is waiting ahead
- LN (Liquor Near) — liquor check ahead
