Hash Name

Culture & Traditions

Your hash name is the nickname by which you are known within the hashing community. Hashers rarely use real names — once named, you become your hash identity.

Naming Process

  1. Earned, not chosen: A hasher cannot name themselves
  2. Multiple runs required: Usually 3-5 hashes before naming is considered
  3. Observation period: The pack watches for distinguishing characteristics, embarrassing moments, or personality traits
  4. The naming: During circle, the pack proposes names and votes or the GM confers one
  5. Acceptance: The named individual drinks a down-down to seal it

Name Characteristics

Hash names are typically:

  • Sexual, scatological, or profane (NSFW by design)
  • Based on a specific incident, physical feature, profession, or personality quirk
  • Puns or wordplay
  • Absolutely unique — no two hashers should have the same name

Examples

Common patterns include plays on real names, job titles, memorable incidents, or physical attributes — all filtered through the hash’s irreverent sense of humor.
