Trail TermsThe call hashers shout when they find true trail. When you hear “On-On!” it means the runner has confirmed the trail marks are heading in the right direction. It’s both a directional signal and a rallying cry — follow the voice, follow the flour.
Also used as a general greeting and farewell among hashers, and as a toast when raising a drink. You’ll see it on bumper stickers, t-shirts, and email signatures throughout the hashing world.
Usage
- On trail: Shouted to signal you’ve found the next mark and are on true trail.
- As a greeting: “On-On!” is the universal hasher hello.
- As a toast: Raised glasses accompanied by “On-On!”
