Virgin

A virgin is anyone attending their first hash. The term applies regardless of the person’s age, experience with running, or actual life experience — it simply denotes hash virginity.

Virgin Experience

• First hash is typically free (no run fee)
• Required to introduce themselves during circle with real name, hometown, and how they heard about hashing
• Usually subjected to a down-down as a rite of passage
• Often given special attention to ensure they return

Virgin Requirements

Some kennels have traditions for virgins:

• Must wear something identifying them as new (optional clothing item, sign, etc.)
• Cannot be named on their first run (hash names require multiple observations)
• Are expected to return for at least one more hash
